INFINITE STUDENT

DESCRIPTION

IMPLEMENTATION

DESCRIPTION

Teaching in the era of social media and AI is complex because of competition for students' attention from interactive devices. Pedagogical methods typically involve information gathering, analysis, creation, and communication, which students perform incrementally on smart devices. While this can facilitate learning, it simultaneously leads to distraction and procrastination. To address this, the "learning by teaching" method is proposed, where students contribute to the educational process by developing a digital entity.

METHODOLOGY

IMPLEMENTATION

DESCRIPTION

Students take on the role of instructors, teaching AI interfaces to accurately act on specific knowledge produced in design and architecture courses. To do so, they must identify the AI's capabilities and limitations, collect and curate multi-format data, and iteratively interact with the platforms through trial-and-error to fine-tune the AI and correct inaccuracies. The exercise involves deploying a digital entity (a chatbot) for testing with real users, gathering feedback to correct persistent errors, and thereby becoming experts in the content used to train the AI, in other words, learning by teaching.

IMPLEMENTATION

Students will interact with the bots via chatbot interfaces embedded on this website, enabling continuous, accessible testing and data collection. Therefore, the website will serve as a repository for chatbots. This will provide them with a platform to connect with a broader audience and refine these digital entities.

EXPERIMENT I: CIEDA

DESCRIPTION

CIEDA is an Intelligent Conversational Platform for Design and Architecture Students trained on information produced by students in the Interior Landscapes course, an elective course in the undergraduate Design program at the Universidad de los Andes. CIEDA's knowledge comes from the research and analysis exercise proposed by the course, whose main objective is the basic recognition of references from the history of Design, Art, and Architecture. CIEDA is an interface that uses generative artificial intelligence to engage in conversations exclusively on topics related to these disciplines.

EXPERIMENT II: ATTEA

DESCRIPTION

ATTEA is a chatbot that is part of the community for the Theory: Text Analysis course in the Master's in Architecture program at the Universidad de los Andes, taught jointly with Professor Ingrid Quintana. Its knowledge base is built on the work produced by students taking the course. Its expertise is limited to the texts analyzed throughout the course, as well as the debates, seminars, and writings derived from said analysis.

EXPERIMENT III: EIT

DESCRIPTION

EIT is a chatbot that is part of the Second Year Studio: Trajectories community in the Design program at the Universidad de los Andes, taught alongside Professor Nicolás Quintero. Its knowledge base is built on the products created by students taking the course. Its expertise is limited to topics related to sustainability and circularity across the sectors studied throughout the course. This includes desktop research, fieldwork, and solution project proposals.
